HIGH SCHOOL AND UNIVERSITY PAYLOAD LAUNCH INTO
SPACE
It is now very possible for schools to launch small
payloads into sub-orbital space and conduct science all along the
way as part of their normal academic curriculum. The Lunar Rocket
& Rover Co., Inc. Shadow IB Metro-Rocket System incorporates
the use of solid rocket motor technology and a new composite upper
stage. The launch is conducted from Launch Complex 47 at Cape Canaveral
Air Force Station in Florida.
STUDENT
TEAMS CAN LAUNCH WITHIN THE SAME SCHOOL YEAR!
As part of their academic curriculum a team of
students led by their instructor can start payload design at the
beginning of their school year in September, develop their payload
within two to three months, test their payload in early winter,
and launch by April during Spring break.
The Lunar Rocket & Rover Co., Inc. will assist
in the process with an industry style one day "Kickoff Meeting"
as per the Integrated Product Development System "IPDS"
and help students from the team and tasks. The Lunar Rocket &
Rover Co., Inc. will also coordinate with Cape Canaveral AFS for
the conduct of the launch with student participation.
